Zapatero wood also known as panamanian walnut or shoemaker's tree is similar to black walnut wood as it is dark brown with tones of burgundy with attractive, usually straight or interlocked, grain and is often descried as having a pronounced veined appearance. This wood is moderately heavy and is resistant to decay. Zapatero wood is a tropical hardwood that is highly prized due to its durability and strength.
